AMATEUR RADIO EMERGENCY SERVICE (ARES)

Training Net Script

1. Activate The Net

2. Preamble
The 1050Hz tone that you have just heard has been a test, repeat a test, of the Alpha 1 ARES alert system.
Once again, this tone has been a test only.
This tone will open squelched receivers to alert area amateurs to possible need for an emergency response situation, or to inform area amateurs of important emergency information.
If you are hearing this tone on another repeater and wish to check in to the Alpha 1 net, please tune your transceiver to the WØCET repeater at 145.270MHz, with a CTCSS of 88.5.
DROP CARRIER FOR A SECOND

This is the Kansas Alpha 1 ARES two meter net. This is a controlled net and correct net procedure is to use full call signs always, unless an emergency net is in progress and net control directs otherwise.
This net meets to exchange information regarding emergency communications training and procedures, and to pass on other items of interest to amateur radio operators.
